IP Legal teams review massive volumes of prior art and navigate an extremely detailed and complex process when preparing Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) submissions for filings through the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Patent attorneys, paralegals, and other support staff regularly must analyze family relationships for cited references along with possible subject matter relationships and cite any missing or new references in IDSs.
SyncIDS provides powerful capabilities that fast-track the IDS process; the software syncs “families” and seamlessly migrates crucial data related to each reference. SyncIDS offers various single services and full-service capabilities that support the needs and complex data demands of patent attorneys, paralegals, and other legal support staff. Clients can select a la carte services through SyncIDS or choose the All-In Package, which provides the full range of services necessary for the full IDS process.

About the
All-In Package
The All-In Package supports IP legal teams from the beginning to the end. Customers are charged only at the time the IDS is filed with the USPTO. This package includes Legacy Data Migration, U.S. Office Action Sweeps, Foreign Action Data Entry, Self-Cite, Paralegal Services, and filing IDSs with the USPTO.
Legacy Data Migration
The legacy data migration service helps customers get started with SyncIDS by migrating in any previously-cited references from IDSs, 892s, and EspaceNet. SyncIDS also determines family relationships and cross-cites matters accordingly. Subject matter relationships can also be easily synced.

To get started with a Legacy Data Migration, email us a spreadsheet with at least the following information:
-
Client Number
-
Matter Number
-
Country Code
-

Once the information is received, the system migrates all the data. Every matter that IP legal teams request for this service will include all the necessary data and information, including bibliography data and previously cited art. All matters are synced according to priority or subject matter; client level preferences are also available.

FAQs About IDS Software, Services and Filings
What needs to be cited in an IDS?
Include both patent literature and non-patent literature (NPL). NPL may comprise printed publications, websites, online media, and sales and marketing materials. Your duty to disclose extends beyond domestic borders to foreign references.
Does SyncIDS include a Patent Term Adjustment Statement for an IDS?
Yes, our Information Disclosure Statement packages include the Patent Term Adjustment Statement under 37 CFR 1.704(d) (Form PTO/SB/133). This form is required if you certify that you first became aware of a reference within the past 30 days. Just certify your recent knowledge, and we will handle the rest!
